Its pretty obvious, but maybe not as well known as it should be...

BUT

With an ipod/Itunes and its Import ability of CD's, what i have done is basically gather up as many cd's as i needed to fill in gaps and missing albums that i resold on Amazon, ETC from the Library which is 100% FREE.

This feels like a revelation, but it should hardly be on, the library has been there, but with Itunes and the singular need to just pop a CD on your Pc and it will import it to your collection and onto your Ipod, i have collected over 5000+ songs now! An incredible number of albums in their entirety. Unless its an artist i LOVE and feel the need to have their cd physically in hand, i see no reason to EVER buy another CD, i mean EVER.

this is so simple, yet so powerful!

What i plan on doing next is going to best buy and looking over the shelves and noting down any and all albums i don;t have and want, then i will request them on the library system and they locate these from all over the area and even out of state if needed...I can't wait to start, but first i need to import the 20 cd's i took out today first LOL

Why not just download full album torrents?

You can burn CD's using lots of software, you don't need an IPOD or ITUNES.

i pod is to store/play back...

This is FREE and 100% LEGAL, i mean not that i worry about downloading, but this is even better, no worry about risk, 100% quality, 100% legit...

I was confused by what you meant the first time I read this and still am a month later...

do you mean you are taking the actual CDs and importing them onto your computer and into Itunes and onto your Ipod? Or are you saying you can get this stuff without the actual CDs?

Because if you are talking about the first way, you are way, way behind.

I know I am way behind, but as i said, this is such a simple thing, i don't see the need to EVER buy a CD again. And yes i am talking about havng the actual CD and importing it, the library can get you ANYTHING too.

You have about a one in a million chance of being sued by the music industry, I think I'll just keep adding to my 50,000 song library by downloading

the sound quality is 1,000 times better on a real cd from the store. If you have a real nice system in your car like me trust me you will want to buy the real cd

I haven't bought a CD in well over ten years.

LimeWire PRO has been excellent for me, for the past four years. Prior to that, it was KazAa and iMesh.

I love the internet.

You must be a true "audiophile," because a regular "Joe" couldn't notice the difference.

Brock,
I must say this is a very good idea your doing. You dont have to worry about downloading the music and possibly catching a virus or even getting caught in one of the music industries stings.:103631605

I am confused also. Help and old man out and tell me how this works. I used to download from Kazaa years ago but have not for 2 years. I have a decent amount of music in my library but always looking for more sources.

Heck, my sons have Ipods and I do not even know how they get their songs.

Thanks in advance

difference is he goes to the library and checks out what cds he wants, then goes home and copies those cds without anybody really knowing what hes doing.
Where as downloading off the net exposes you having your ip address recorded {especially if you arent hiding taht} getting caught by the music industry {sure odds are high, but still a chance} or even catching a virus or an identity stealing trojan on your computer.
By doing the library route to get his music, hes taking 99.9 percent of the risk of ever getting caught out of the picture
More work for him, but way safer.
