Ron Paul raises more than $3 Million in 18 hours
The only U.S. presidential candidate openly opposed to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), has raised more than $3 Million dollars in just 18 hours, this November 5th. And the day isn't over yet.
Ron Paul won his Republican congressional seat in 1976, and has since served 10 terms in congress. Ron Paul was one of only four Republican Congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan for president against Gerald Ford in 1976. Ron Paul led the Texas Reagan delegation at the national Republican convention.
Ron Paul himself has proven his ability to win against the odds. In 1996, eight years after his presidential candidacy on the Libertarian ticket, Ron Paul was again elected to congress as a Republican, defeating incumbent Greg Laughlin, despite Laughlin being heavily supported by then Texas governor George W. Bush, House speaker Newt Gingrich, and the Republican National Committee.
