RED SOX--2004 & 2007 World Champions....

.......not sure if even now it has fully sunken in for this diehard fan since 1967.

Lots of heartache and long(wasted?) hours watching and listening to this team perform from 1967-2004 and beyond.

At the turn of this century, thought death would be upon me before the Bosox hoisted the trophy.........

.......and to think there may be more in the very near future is just incredible.

Big papi was on Conan talking about the two parades.

He said at the '04 one people were staring up at them with big eyes and their jaws open in disbelief. I was there, I was one of those guys. I was yelling and pumping my fist at Curtis Leskanic on that duck boat as if he had just set a record for most shut out innings thrown by a reliever.

He said the '07 one people were a lot more 'chill' and could enjoy it more.

You are right Fish, it hasnt totally set in. When it sets in is in '08 when all the bottom tier teams come at us like it's the world series.

One thing I have learned is that you never know when you will be back. I remember in 75 when i was young and Jim Rice broke his wrist....and he said look we may never get back and it hurts that i cannot play in the playoffs. I thought he was nuts with Fred Lynn (rookie of the year and great year for him and Rice "the Golddust twins") and Rice and Yaz and Tiant that we would dominate but it did not happen. It is so hard to win it all. I also began to think we would never see a World Series victory here in Boston. It makes it very special.

Try being a Cleveland or Buffalo fan!! Or for that matter a Philly fan such as myself....Enjoy them as they come, no matter what sport....

You must be so proud. Your team is playing with a payroll that doubles most of the teams in the league. Spend 145 million every year and there is no excuse for not contending for a world championship.

I guess all that Bosox merchandise I've purchased over the many years and the amount of money I've spent to see them play live over the years has finally paid off........
