A source within the Chiefs organization is reporting that RB Larry Johnson is done for the season after suffering a foot injury against the Packers.

Apparently what was thought to be a sprain turned out to be a broken bone in his foot. Expect RB Priest Holmes to get most of the carries going forward, with RB Kolby Smith as the backup. The team is likely going to go out and get another running back for depth.

Kolby Smith will be getting plenty of carries, as well. But, I would imagine Priest will get the majority of them.

Can't find this confirmed anywhere.

Seriously-these Denver Fox guys can be brutal.

Don't be surprised if this is wrong.

Just thought it was worth mentioning he avg 3.5 yards per carry this season.

Yea, good point. This isn't even worth mentioning. One of the best running backs of the last few years may be out for the season. Who cares? I'm sure everyone has dropped him from their fantasy team already. :103631605

roux,

I'm just saying it might not be that bad of a loss.

I think Holmes could probably get 3.5 a carry or even more.

I know what you're saying. I'm just really hoping its not true. Our O Line has been absolutely terrible. I don't know how much blame to put on LJ vs. the O Line for his poor performance. Not real comfortable with Holmes or Smith getting the carries. I'm just hoping for the best, as a Chiefs fan. :toast:

A report from the TV station KDVR in Denver claims that Chiefs RB Larry Johnson is out for the season, but according to WDAF in Kansas City, a Chief spokesman denies the report. The story out of Denver said that a source within the Chiefs organization with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed that Johnson has a broken bone in his foot. Johnson had suffered a mid-foot sprain in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's 33-22 loss to the Packers. Kansas City coach Herm Edwards said Tuesday that Johnson would be highly questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, but Edwards declined to speculate on how long Johnson might be out, saying he did not have enough information.
