I flipped the garage and basement breakers but am getting no power from the heating system after the electricity went out. Any ideas here? We have so much stuff running I don't want to just flip random breakers trying to figure this out...

if a breaker has been tripped it will feel loose so just feel around for which one is loose and reset that one, but I would check the fuse in your heater because it could have been blown when the power came back on.

I think its your reset botton on your water heater.
Had a similar problem at the cabin.Took me a day to figure it out but once I found the reset botton on the heater, everything was ok.

It depends on if your using elec or gas heat...gas heat uses a regular 110v breaker..elec would be a 220v...
However the lights going out shouldnt cause any breakers to trip. In your case id be more likely to look at maybe a programmable t-stat that lost its memory when the power went out..........it is possible that if the heat was in mid cycle when the power went out that the heat buildup inside the unit was enough to trip an internal limit switch in which case you'll probably need a mechanic to find it...
