That pretty much sums it up. By far my worse beat ever. I dont know how I am going to sleep tonight thinking about this one. I might actually consider taking some time off. I am in shock and dont have much else to say other than someone please make me feel better and say they have had a worse beat and not in poker.

I'm mentally drained after that entire game. Thought about turning it off at halftime. HOW THE FUCK DOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN?

Normally I wouldn't pile on after such a bad beat, but you went under a bad number...gotta get the best number out there, but I do feel your pain...We all are guilty doing this...

USC +9 - 10/19/96

The ASU defense had to keep the Trojans out of the end zone to seal the win. Otton completed his first two passes, but cornerback Jason Simmons and Scott Von der Ahe each made key tackles, ensuring the receivers would not stray far. Otton faced a third and seven from the ASU 22.

Defensive end Albrey Battle beat his man and got his hands around the USC quarterback, who promptly underhanded the ball to avoid a sack. The ball fell at Courtney Jackson's feet. What next? Nobody in the stadium was quite sure.

So Jackson started running.

"When Courtney picked the ball up, I looked directly at the referee," Snyder said. "He let him run so I said 'Go, Courtney, go!'"

Courtney went 85 yards to be exact, putting a most-bizarre finishing touch on a most bizarre college football game.

So Battle, Bush, Poole, Burnstein, Pat Tillman (who intercepted Otton in the second quarter) and the rest of the Sun Devil players and coaches all put a heroic effort into a hard day's work. But Plummer, whether it was running for his life, hitting the open man or charging his unit up in the huddle, was the undisputed catalyst.

"Plummer is the heart and soul of their team," USC defensive lineman Darrell Russell said. "They would not function without him.

"He makes them believe."

Game Notes

* ASU moved to 7-0 for the first time since 1982.
* Terry Battle rushed for more than 100 yards for the first time in his career.
* Jake Plummer set career highs for completions (26) and attempts (44).
* The Sun Devils were 3 for 3 in the red zone, moving their season total to 24 for 24.
* ASU remained fourth in the AP Poll and moved up to fourth in the USA Today/CNN Coaches' Poll.

Hey degz,

Was playing cards watching this with a buddy, he said all night how he needed overtime to win this game. He had the favorite and the over and parlayed them both.

He kept saying they can do it they can do it, all 4th qtr. This kid is the biggest jinx in the history of mankind, well we all know what happened. They fucking scored unreal and he got a push, a win and his parley went to a straight bet, unreal.....

I was glad for him but can feel your pain, that was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

Another kicker was I bought the fav -2.5! So I won on that last score!!!! Fucking amazing!!!!!!

its hard, but shake it off...there is an unbeliveble win waiting around the corner to balance things out... apply good money management and you'll kick ass again...

my worst loss was an NBA UNDER bet between Orlando with Shack vs the Knicks. The game was on pace to be the lowest scoring game in NBA history. The announcer said that you would need 4 Overtimes for the teams to hit 75 points. you know what happen next... 4 f*cking OTs... 3 pointer from 45 feet sends it to the first OT. no sweat, they still need something like 65 points for me to lose. Shack who was something like 2-23 from the line makes 2 in a row to send it to the second OT. Now I'm starting to sweat... 2 more OTs??? come on what are the chances??? backtoback 3 pointers send it to the 3rd OT. in the 3rd OT they get into a freethrow shooting match that goes on for days with nobody missing and off course into the 4th OT!!!! Still with like .03 of the 4th OT left, I'm fucking winning. It went OVER on the last shot... I sat there contemplating quiting gambling... and saying f*ck f*ck f*ck for about 20 minutes. I took solace in that I still had a bankroll and tomorrow was a new day... I didnt bet for about 2 weeks though I was afraid I was cursed but then I got over it...

keep on chuggling Degz

Too many bad beats to remember them all:

- Had O36 in a football game, 35-0 at halftime. I don't have to tell you the final.

- Had U55 or so in a college game a few years ago, 17-10 with seconds left in the game. Wife walks in and calls it a LOCK. Game goes to OT and 5 quarters later it's something like 58-56 final. She's no longer my wife.

- Worst ever was a college hoops game. I am up 5 with 7 seconds left and getting +11.5 points! How can I lose? The other team score a bucket, steal the inbounds pass and gets fouled at the buzzer for an old-fashioned 3 point play. They then go on to win by 12 in overtime. I quit gambling for a month.

sounds to me like those things would require a break from gambling and some new drywall.

In poker I had one even worse. I am dealt QQ, raise, get reraised and still get 7 callers. The flop comes KQQ. The bad beat is 54K, even if I somehow I lose the hand I am getting a big share of that. The turn is a King, I'm praying someone has pocket Kings. River comes off 9 of spades. I never get a bet in. The 9 of spades gives someone a straight flush, the other guy had the 4 kings so I am locked out of both ends of the bad beat jackpot and of course lose the hand. The 4 kings gets 27k, the straight flush get 13.5k and the rest of the table gets 1600 a piece players share. I lost 3k on the hand.

Quit playing poker for 2 years after that.

To think it happened without overtime too. I had it also. But hey, according to some here, it was the square play. :nohead:

Had U64 for the game (pretty big play). Never knew about it until just now. These things aren't so bad the next day.

Don't watch the scoreboard - you'll go nuts.

Back when college first instilled O.T. I remember a game was USC and Arizona I think.

USC favored by 10 or so they scored a TD in OT and then on Zona's series they got picked and USC took it all the way down to win by 13.

I've never seen that happen since?

Lost a three team parlay two years ago when Jamarcus Russell threw a 40 yard TD pass on 4th and 10 against Arizona State with about 30 seconds left in the game.
