Ohio St.
As much as I hate to lay serious chalk give me 10-0 on the season Ohio St -15 (Bookmaker.com) at home over the improved but definitely outclased on the road Illini team.
I know Illinois snuck up on Ohio St last year in Champaign and lost by only seven (17-10) but there won't be any sneaking up going on this year. Buckeye HC Jim Tressel got the message last year that he can't look past this team and he won't.
I also know Ohio St. has the big showdown on the 17th at Michigan but the Buckeye's know they need this game to make the Michigan game the big deal it promises to be.
Ohio St. leads the nation in points per game allowed at 9.7 PPG and leads the Big Ten in points per game scored 34.9 PPG.. Their defense has been awesome including allowing only two touchdowns in 6 home games this year. Pretty impressive numbers.
The Horseshoe will be rockin today. Illinois already bowl eligible can only improve from say the Alamo Bowl to maybe the Gator Bowl by winning. Hats off to Ron Zook to bringing back respectability to the Illini. They are definitely back to the upper half of the non-Ohio St/Michigan Big Ten Pack.
Call me crazy but I just don't see a close game this time around. The only team out of State's ten wins that was closer than 15 points was their 24-17 win over Michigan St on October 20 in a game that saw Ohio St lead 24-0 and then give up a couple of scores off turnovers in the second half, one on an INT return and the other on a fumble return in a game heavily dominated by Ohio St.
BOL to all, wil..
