How much money bet does it take to move a CBB total at a sharp book?

Just wondering if anyone has an idea. I am sure most times it has alot to do with who is betting but just surprised how much mid day line movement there is in CBB and I have to assume it has to do with the fact that most books are a little cautious about these numbers being beatable and they (the books) not having alot of confidence in their numbers.

It's Who Bets, Not How Much.

If A Sharp Walks In And Bets 5 Dimes The Line Is Moving. But If 20 Public Players Bet 500 Each For A Total Of 10,000 The Line Barely Moves If At All.

It depends on the book. For instance, WSEX takes professional action, but a mere $550 will move the juice .05 on a total in CBB.

wagers I have made (hundreds of them) for $200+ - $500 have moved lines 1/2 - 1 point (especially totals) instant change but Im not sure its my action that does it, I think sometimes the wager triggers a small move based on total volume and mine might push it over... It has at times caused books everywhere to move 1/2 point to 1 point. That is fun to see, you really think you are a player :nohead:

ncaa hoop totals are very very volitile. thats why even the big boys have 250-500 limits overnight and dime limits gameday.

if you are deemed a sharp player at cris or pinny a nickle bet game day can move the line .5 to 1pt. they look as you as a cheap way to help correct the line

If 500 moves a line, then the argument that books TRY to get uneven action on a line to "trap" the public is blown OUT OF THE WATER.

on a ncaa total moving the line on a small bet is not unheard of "if" the player is deemed sharp or pro by the books standards. a book will take 500 pops all day on a total if that player is deemed a joe schmo square and not touch the line. they will move the line on the sharp until the line does not have any value for them to rebet it at.

If the right guy post on here the line could move without a play even being made. Not saying the bets won't roll in afterwards. But for the record I would say the cost of a post could move the line.

Also the TIMING of the bet is important too. Later it is harder to move the line. Early on (soon after they come out) they are much more volitile and can be moved too. I once moved a total 4 points at Pinny, early. Those days are over.

Since your talking about college totals - look at this line movement - it's really a joke - that's 9 points better assuming it has not gone higher

A major capper moved this as he does every day. Same capper moved Duke total up as well.

I have the Duke total at 152.

This no bullshit - I just logged into DSI to make sure I had it at 152 because you brought it up - and a screen pops up that says max online wager is now $500 - I tried to copy it but it would not let me - and this is supposed to be a pro shop.
