Just saw preview yesterday....looked awesome, got interested and looked it up on wikipedia....found out the ending, plot, etc....wish I didn't...rather be surprised
Was visiting relatives in Washington Heights (near the GW Bridge at a 181st St in Manhattan) last year. They were blocking off the streets at the time to film a scene.
Should be pretty good compared to original with it's hokey exterior shots and Charlton Heston pretty much playing the Planet of the Apes commander role and dying the dramatic messiah death at the end.

The book "I Am Legend" was adapted for three movies. The Will Smith movie, "The Omega Man" and "The Last Man on Earth" which has the wonderful Vincent Price in it.
Arnold was originally suppose to play this part back in the 90's.
