the last thing OSU wants is for Carr to retire. If Michigan gets a good coach and recruiter in there the outcome of these games will be different.

Here we go again. He is 6-6 against OSU in his career, unbelievable.

seriously what don't you get about this rivalry. You don't have the worst 7 year span ever against OSU expect no heat on you. Do you understand what 1-6 in the last 7 years would mean in this game.

dude what is he against tressel in the last 6 years.

What about the 6 years before that, dude. I can tear apart statistics anyway you want or just like you.

Coaching in a game is so OVERRATED, players make plays, peorid.

Did you see Carr make that bad pass or break all those tackles or fumble the ball.

This is dumb. HE IS 16-8 AGAINST TOP 10 TEAMS IN HIS CAREER. He wins and runs a clean program. He has elevated the Wolverine program in the past decade. This is what is wrong with sports fans nowadays. Sad Sad Sad.

so I shouldn't care that the program has been eroding recently because he was good early in his career. Sorry I don't have the Joe Pa mentallity. I'm a what have you done lately guy. And lately he is 1-5 against OSU probably about to be 1-6 and losses every bowl game they are in. And has lost more than half of his games against the top 10 in recent years. He is a great man and a better than average football coach, but its time to step down. Or maybe take a job in the athletic department. Fact is 10 years ago he was great, in the last 6 years he's been O.K.

By the way Carr started 5-1 against OSU. Which ment that the OSU coach was 1-5 against Carr. What did OSU do? They FIRED him because he was losing to Michigan.

OK? They were undefeated and playing for the game to get to the NC last year. They were essentially in the CFB final 4 last year in the bowl game against USC. Yeah that is eroding. They are playing for the Big Ten championship today. Good call on that. I am just stating the facts.

Pointless to argue this. I just thank god you arent running the Michigan football program.

You still dont get it. If you lose every year to OSU and your bowl opponent your eroding. They were dominated by both OSU and USC last year. And the year before, and the year before. John Copper's last 6 years at OSU he won 8, 6, 11, 10, 11, and 11 games. That is also when Michigan hired Carr. In those 6 years Cooper was averaging 9.5 wins a year and was #2 in the country two times coming into the Michigan game. Both times Michigan won the game denying OSU a chance to win the national championship. He was fired because of that. And there isn't a OSU fan in the world that will tell you different. Cooper was fired because he couldn't beat Michigan. Period. And Carr will probably retire after this year because of the heat put on him for not beating OSU.

Head coach in college athletics is huge -- underrated. In the pros, it's overrated for sure. But in college, coaches make or break programs in so many ways.

Putting together and maintaintng a clean top notch program, sure I agree which he has did. They have won the Big Ten almost 50% of the time he has been there. He has the 6th highest win pct in Big Ten history. I keep throwing out facts on how successfull he has been, which cannot be denied.

OSU was lambasted for firing Cooper. For every time you fire succesfully a Cooper you go backwards the other 4 times.

In a game can you blame him (or any coach) for the line not blocking or a punter knocking down punts inside the 20 or a WR dropping numerous passes or a passing game that isnt working due to the weather or a handful of miss tackles on a routine running play, etc...

Said this for years. If this was the case than why arent ND a top notch program with the genius Weiss. Why did a staff with Ara Paraseghian (sp), Bo Scembechler, Lou Holtz win zero games one year? How does Phil Jackson win 9 NBA titles and a few years later not make the playoffs? Players make plays when it is all said and done.

College coaches are supposed to recruit players to make plays...that is why Pete Carroll was so succesful in college and not in the Pros...I agree Iceman, Carr is a good coach and maintained a clean program while winning, but other coaches have recruited a bit better than him in the last few years..

I hope he doesn't leave for 2 selfish reasons, Tressel owns him and I have heard rumors that Kelly from UC could be a replacement.
