a few ounces... The absinthe is 140 proof and claims to have some of the highest thujone levels around... Does anyone know what the typical amount of thujone is for absinthe?

Ha-something that I actually haven't tried.

It's basically a wicked strong, nasty tasting booze with wormwood extracts that are said to make you trip.

Pathetic explanation from someone who knows a little about it, but I'm sure someone else can do much better.

Thujone is a ketone and a monoterpene that exists in two stereoisomeric forms: (+)-3-thujone or α-thujone and (-)-3-thujone or β-thujone. It has a menthol odor. Even though it is best known for being a chemical in absinthe, recent tests show absinthe contains only small quantities of thujone, and it is not responsible for absinthe's reported hallucinogenic effects. Thujone acts on the GABA receptors in the brain and does not cause hallucinations. In many countries the amount of thujone allowed in food or drink products is regulated.

I've had it before - I was recently in Cabo - not every restaurant has black sambuca and when you order it they bring this green shit - eventually, I caught on and would tell them black sambuca and not the green stuff.
