I'm hearing Miggy to Angels for Howie Kendrick, Nick Adenhart and either Wood or Izturis.

cabrera to cleveland for ben francisco, andy marte, and adam miller has apparently been talked about.

but there is no way the indians are giving up the best pitching prospect (miller) to come through their organization in almost a decade. especially with sabathia's free agency looming.

also heard andy marte, franklin gutierrez, and cliff lee is possible. would be tough to part with gutierrez but for cabrera, youd have to.

neither of those, the indians or tigers packages, would land you miguel cabrera, imo. well, the tigers offer wouldnt get you me and my bag of chips. it'd be one or the other.

Cabrera to L.A.?
Miguel Cabrera | Marlins | Interested: Angels, Dodgers, Indians? Yankees? Red Sox? White Sox? Giants?
It's looking more and more like Miguel Cabrera will be playing in Southern California next year, with the Dodgers and Angels as the front-runners to land the third baseman in a trade, The Palm Beach Post reports.

Florida's goal is to complete a trade at baseball's winter meetings in early December, the newspaper reports.

The Marlins are believed to be asking the Angels for second baseman Howie Kendrick and pitching prospect Nick Adenhart along with another pitcher and an outfielder.

The Dodgers reportedly would have to give up four players from a group that includes pitcher Chad Billingsley, pitching prospect Clayton Kershaw, third baseman Andy LaLoche, first baseman James Loney and outfielder Matt Kemp.

Agreed...

But it wouldn't it be interesting to see Pujols and then Cabrera as a 3,4 combo?

The Marlins would want Wainwright, Reyes, Rasmus, Rolen, and Molina.

Kershaw may have control problems. Billingsley can step in and be a #2 right now for them.
The Fish already have 9 prospects right where Kershaw is now (high single-A to double-A).

not sure what this means. they have more than 9 guys in single-double a. kershaw does have control problems, but so what? hes 19. Billingsley would step in and be their #1 starter right now. the marlins dont have anyone better than chad, but kershaw, from what ive read, has cy young type potential and hes not someone i would pass on for billingsley. ive been wrong before and i certainly could be here....but we'll see what kershaw looks like in 4 years when hes 23, as chad is now.

I was saying they might opt for the proven major league level young pitcher over the prospect with upside considering they have multiple prospects with upside, albeit maybe not with the ceiling of a Kershaw, and a dearth of healthy major league pitching. Would not surprise me to see Billingsley in the Cy Young discussion this year and next as well.
