I guess everyone has their own idea of what a bookie should be. I know alot of people think big, Italian, and scary, but I have yet to deal with a bookie that was any of those things. If you have dealt with something like that, tell us about it and describe it. I'll start.

My bookie is an old friend of my best friend's Uncle. He is about 60 and weighs in at about 350 pounds. He is retired and lives in Vegas. We FedEx each other money orders month-to-month. He is not scary at all and would not break my legs if I did not pay him. Fortunate enough for him I am not a degenerate and I do pay. Been dealing with him for 3 years. Nice Guy overall.

i been with my local for 7 years (on my own). My dad used his dad to place wagers back in the day, and now i use his son for most of mine.
I used to help his father in the office when i was younger, answering phones, taking bets.
Then his son started up the business after his father died.
He has a lot of local connections-through his father.

*they own a towing company, one of the biggest in florida
*they have resturants in naples where they have their poker games (and the place stays open after close just for us)
*has direct connections with the police (as they always bet the football tickets with him)
*is related to a deadly family, who would literally die in a snap of finger for each other

as far as physical looking...he's short...fat.....italian...but for some reason, he gets all the girls

I use black bookmakers now, these guys are my idols. All of them are big and strong and always have ladies with them, everyone of them also doubles a sugar daddy. They also pimp.

Now they will give you good credit and not do lots of credit checks but they make it clear if you do not pay they will break bruise your legs and ribs with bat.

I had to go to court today and show support for one of them as he had an assault charge against him. He has 45 clients and all of us were there because we were scared shit if we did not show. I am more careful betting with the black bookmakers.

Currently only have one local, a 70+ yr old hispanic guy with a shaved head, that books out of his house Monday - Friday. His partner is a late 30's hispanic guy who books the weekend action, from somewhere in the desert area. Both are good guys to deal with.

Previous local was a late 40's guy who rented out bike, rollerblades, and surfboards while taking action in the back room. The guy lived on a boat in the marina and also had a bed in his office. Also a good guy to deal with, seemed like a great life for a single guy who doesnt mind working up until games start and holidays.

Both of the older bookies do/did drink heavily.
