if i have to read one more post, read one more article, or hear one more clown media member talk about how new england is going to beat the new york jets by 70 points next month, im gonna drink straight poison.

christ. talk about about a played out angle that every joe is taking and running with.

we're talking about a professional football game.

do people really think that mangini and every player on the new york roster is oblivious to all this talk? apparently these guys arent professionals either? they should just forfeit to new england?

shit, if anything new york is going to be 10 times more prepared.

doesnt mean the jets are going to cover the spread. and, of course, it doesnt mean they have any shot to win outright.

but if anyone really thinks that only one team is going to be taking that field with a focused mindset and a clear goal, theyre kidding themselves.

this angle is so lame and is only going to get worse as the media just spews it over and over in the coming weeks.

Very true. You can expect the Jets/Dolphins to play their hearts out.

dolphins are just grossly overmatched both on the field and on the sidelines. even if the dolphins play above their heads, i dont think they can cover.

but there is something about mangini that i really like. he's not kissing belichick's ass. everyone acts like he should be so indebted to belichick. funny, because there are plenty of guys who helped belichick along the way that he hasnt exactly been the most loyal to.

will the jets cover against the pats? who knows. game probably ends up 38-14 or something like that.

but the whole 'new england is going to win by 50 and run it up on the jets' angle is so played out its not even funny.

i agree that is what I saw in the Division game vs Buffalo lst week as well ... exactly as you describe... both teams taking the field expecting to win and a clear goal...

That's a pretty silly statement.

whats silly about this? even a great miami effort still isnt likely to produce an ATS win.

If Miami was unlikely to see an ATS win, the books would not offer the game, and even if they did all of the sharp bettors would unload and drive the price up to something completely unreasonable. The books/market may be off, but not by that much.

What happens if you catch a FG on the full? Is it play on or is it dead?

I agree.
The best part of that game is when 60,000 people in Foxboro start chanting R-A-T-S Rats!Rats!Rats! to some guy wearing a firemans helmet with mouse ears.If the Jets don't make it a game it could get realy ugly.

In a league where the guys with all the angles and analysis still hit 49-51%, and they guys that flip coins do just about the same, what's wrong with simply saying that the Patriots are going to kick the shit out of both the Jets and Dolphins? 7 possessions, 7 touchdowns. How the hell do you fade this team with the Dolphins or Jets? I wouldn't take +28.

I beg your pardon 9 for 9.Last two real drives in Indy were TD's with the last drive being the new most popular play in football "the knee".

You just contradicted yourself. You state all angles are 49-51%, then suggest that NE is something much greater than 51%.

I didn't suggest anything. I'm saying that almost nobody beats the NFL, and who knows what is going to happen. But I certainly couldn't criticize the thinking that NE is going to beat the hell out of everyone they play. It has, afterall, kind of worked out for those people this year. :toast:

i think its funny they are gonna "try" bc they have heard how the pats are gonna try to win by 100...i think buffalo was probably in the same boat last week on the SNF primetime game...after the guy who got injured in week1 comes on the bigtv and goes beat the pats...im sure they were all amped up...and what happened...the pats called off the dogs with 24minutes left in the game only to win by half a hundy....lolol

come get some jets, the pats will be waiting for your best shot LMFAO
