What was the NFL thinking of when they scheduled these games for today?

Two barely watchable games, the last being the worse so far. It looks like the Jets were just happy to be there today. the Lions looked like crap and the score does not indicate how bad they were outclassed. I hate to see how the Falcons look tonight.

I think it has a lot to do with tradition......Dallas and Detroit both play a lot of Thanksgiving Day games....

Hard to see at the start of the season how crappy these teams will be 2/3rds into the season....

Detroit is actually overacheiving this year but Iunderstand the tradition of playing on Turkey day for them but the Jets were an embarassment. It's no way the NFL thought that they would be competitive at the beginning of the season with the Cowboys no less. I get your point though Marco.

I think the NFL schedule makers probably felt that all four teams would be at or near .500 by Thanksgiving. As far as Ind-Atl they probably wanted the Vick-Manning angle.

It could of been worse if they had the Ravens playing today:nohead:

At this point you're right! A good X-mas present for me this year would be Billick being canned.

They were thinking about how grateful I would be that I didn't have to put these games on my parlay cards.
