I guess I won't be going to the Dominican Republic anytime soon.

My friend just got back and not only did he end up getting sick and needed an IV while he was down there, (The water in the casino wasn't top notch) but he found out yesterday the same casino paid him with counterfeit $100 bills.

It sounds like a great place. :drink:

He said the casino wasn't apart of the hotel.

The casino was named Aqua something or other.

Probably played at the Aquamalo Casino. Famous for their bad water and even worse money.

Seriously, I always drink bottle water in any of these countries, including my own home.

Even worse though is getting counterfeit $100 bills and not realizing it can be a serious problem if you drop one or two at a department store, restaurant or even worse a bank when you get back to the states (assuming you haven't lost them back before you leave).. Explaining to ATF where you got them will not be all that easy.

I was there a month ago and thought it was great. Didn't really leave the resorts areas though.

Like Wil said, any country in the Carribean can have water problems, better to drink bottled water...even here in Costa Rica...

I went DR in 1980. The food was great. The accomodations were good. I got cheated playing BJ at one of the casinos. They added 5's and 6's and took out 10's and Ace's. It wasn't all that bad. The women are the best down there. At least they were 27 years ago.
