Whats your take on this cliche' bullshit.

Even if I love my job, there are going to most likely be people that annoy me and waking up in the morning ect.

It has to be because I work a job and hate evey fuckin miserable minute.
I'd love for just once in my life to get paid for what I like to do.

It's mainly BS, but don't kid yourself-there is a big, big difference between having a shitty job and one that you at least half assed don't mind doing & are well compensated for doing.

If I could make a living at sports betting I would love my job and would not consider it working.

quatnemleap, I have made my living wagering on sports for 30+ years, and trust me, I don't love my job. If I didn't take 4 or 5 months off a year, I would go nuts. Good Luck

You may love it, but it's still work. Very people are born into a situation where life isn't work. It doesn't make it any less of a task just because we enjoy doing it.

belly, I understand it is work during those 7 or 8 months that you work. What is it you don't love about it? I can understand if you're griding out numbers or sitting by a computer finding scalps. That wouldn't be fun in my opinion either. But I'm talking about putting in a couple hours research a day and making picks. I do that already and that part is fun to me.

Thanks for the input.

Viejo, my golf season starts in April, and I already have 4 or 5 trips planned, plus I still compete in a few amateur tournaments. I can't make the December Bash, but maybe in August(Summer Bash in Vegas), we will meet and play a round on me. Happy Holidays.

I don't mind what I do. While I "sit in front of a screen grinding numbers", my typical work day is more like what most people do when they're at home. I'm always doing something else like surfing the net, watching tv, playing video games or listening to music. Just that when a number at the corner of my eye flashes I take a glance at it. In a typical working hour I doubt I spend more than 10-15 minutes actually working. Unless it's a busy day or the weekend (with games throughout the day), I might only do 30-45 minutes of real work over the day.

That sounds rather enjoyable versus having to show up at a certain hour 5 days a week having to put up with a manager who doesn't have any experience managing people while people kiss his ass so he prefers them over someone who is competent.

There are few words that can describe having to work 5 days a week for 50 weeks a year getting 2 weeks vacation a year and 8 days off for holidays and being chained to a cubicle. I told my friend (who is a professional gambler and chooses when he gets to work) that it's like being in jail with work release. You have to be in jail (the cubicle) for 8 hours a day and only get to go home when not at work.

There's a reason you get a paycheck for having a job. Very few jobs are enjoyable.... maybe golf pro, astronaut, president or something, but those aren't normal jobs.

It seems the ones who make such statements as "You will never work a day in your life, if you love your job" always seem to be the ones who don't really need the money.
