Redskins Taylor -- up to 46 years in the clink!!

Not good for us skins fans.........

MIAMI (AP) -- Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor faces up to 46 years in prison after two additional assault charges were filed against him Friday.
Michael Grieco, an assistant state attorney, said the charges reflect Taylor's alleged threatening of three people with a gun in an armed confrontation over an all-terrain vehicle on June 1.

Taylor, 22, now faces three counts of aggravated assault, each of which carries a minimum sentence of three years and a maximum of 15 years in prison. He also faces one misdemeanor battery charge that carries a potential one-year prison term.

Trial is scheduled to begin March 20 for Taylor, a former University of Miami star who signed a seven-year, $18-million contract after being drafted by the Redskins in 2004. He has six interceptions and 120 tackles in his two seasons.

Taylor's attorney, Edward Carhart, said the additional charges surprised him. "The state has had this case since June and now they're filing these added charges? It's bizarre," Carhart said.

Taylor has pleaded not guilty and remains free on $16,500 bond. The Redskins lost to the Seattle Seahawks two weeks ago in the NFC playoffs. In a playoff victory against Tampa Bay, Taylor was ejected after spitting in the face of Buccaneers running back Michael Pittman. Earlier in that game, he ran a fumble back for a touchdown.

This is actually a good thing for Taylor.
His original charge mandated a MINIMUM 3 year sentence.
These new charges have no MANDATORY jail time.
So basically what will happen is Taylor will plead guilty to the new charges, the other charge will be dismissed and he will get probation or some lesser penalty.
This is why nobody can understand lawyers.
But as long as he is hitting the shit out of people for my Skins, I don't care.

Fuck, this is terrible news obviously. Damn last I heard he had squeezed the doctors hand so I was hoping that was a good sign... way to young to no longer be with us. I hope the fukker(s) that did this rot in hell.

MIAMI — Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor has died, a day after he was shot in the leg, said family friend Richard Sharpstein.
He said Taylor's father called him around 5:30 a.m. to tell him the news.
"His father called and said he was with Christ and he cried and thanked me," said Sharpstein, Taylor's former lawyer. "It's a tremendously sad and unnecessary event. He was a wonderful, humble, talented young man, and had a huge life in front of him. Obviously God had other plans."
He said he did not know exactly when Taylor died.
Doctors had been encouraged late Monday night when Taylor squeezed a nurse's hand. But Sharpstein said he was told Taylor never regained consciousness after being transported to the hospital and that he wasn't sure how he had squeezed the nurse's hand.
"Maybe he was trying to say goodbye or something," Sharpstein said.
The 24-year-old Redskins safety was shot early Monday in his home in the upper leg, damaging an artery and causing significant blood loss.

Crazy that being shot in the leg, even after getting to medical care, can take a life

Shocking. Terrible. This event was pre-planned to the fullest extent. Horrible. Guarantee you the guy who gets busted for this says he shot him in the leg to end his football career not kill him.

what I dont understand is, if it was a premeditated shooting to kill him then why not just shoot him in the head?
