No, No Nanette. Not the type of play you are thinking of, but it was the reason Babe Ruth was sold to NYY.

The two games that changed sports the most were the Colts/NYG NFL Championship game and Super Bowl III

Jackie Robinson for sure. Three others that stand out are:

US Hockey team beating USSR in Olympic semis 1980.
1958 NFL Championship Colts/Giants making the NFL rise in popularity on national tv.
1970 USC/Alabama game that ended segregation in the SEC and the south.
