Lots of foreclosures in the Valley (San Fernando Valley). A guy I work with is looking to buy there and looked at a couple foreclosures. Some owners realize they will be foreclosed on and don't give a shit about their house for months. Others were never built well to begin with.
The guy I work with saw one house that was repaired and the repair job was inept. The original construction didn't have square corners. Of course he didn't make an offer.
Do yourself a favor and fly down to Bob Hope Airport (Burbank) and drive out to the house before buying it. Some homes are not worth buying even at the incredibly low prices you can find now.
