Joba the Hut is speclative, like Ellsbury, but both should be very good. Pitcher prospects seem to flame out a lot more than hitter prospects ( I think). Maybe because of the increased chance they have to suffer a major injury. hitters can recover from an injury, pitchers have a tough road if they hurt their arm.

Ellsbury is the best prospect I have ever seen come up with the Red Sox. Papelbon is the nuts right now as a closer. Beckett, Papelbon and one somewhat speculative pick. I like my card.

I would not put Bucholz in the top 3 for sure but for those who want to stick Joba the Hut in there, Red Sox have a counter legit major pitching prospect as well

Mr. Smith,
soon as I saw you posted I thought "Jacoby Ellsbury". Nothing wrong with that, just knew it was there.

You're absolutely correct about the pitching thing. I threw Joba in there because I felt I had to include a pitcher.

The thing is Joba's upside is Clemens-esque.
His downside is Kerry Wood.

As a Sox fan, I know you are hoping for Kerry Wood,:lolBIG:.

i think a name that will be on many lists next year at this time will be liriano.

Ellsbury was 17-1 to have the most hits of any player in the world series. He hit .370 in limited action in the regular season. I added 2+2. Maybe homer added 2+2. All I know is I wish the limits had been higher. that kid is OK in my book.

miggy can mash, no doubt. does he have the work ethic to be one of the greats? maybe, maybe not.

i hope you're right about liriano, he would've been on my list before the injury for sure, kid was sick.
