Am I a jackass for thinking about this bet?

Tonight in hockey, the Red Wings who had off last night and are currently rolling offensively, are playing a tired Coyotes team, who is coming off an ass beating last night at the hands of the Blackhawks. I am finding the Red Wings on the PL (-1.5)for basically even money, worst case scenario -110. While the Yotes are getting as much as +270 and higher at the moment.

I think it would be great to lay 3 units on the PL for the Wings, who really should and I think will blow out the Yotes tonight, and put a one unit security play on the Yotes at that high dog tag.

Obviously, its a 4 unit loss if the Wings only win by one, but I think either the Wings win big, or this will be a huge let down and the Yotes pull off a miricle, hence only losing less than a unit if 3 units were laid on the Wings PL.

Is there stock in this play/line of thinking, or is this a waste of time?

I know not alot of ppl venture into the hockey forum, and these situations are few and far between so I thought this is worthy of a discussion for the whole forum!!

I think everyone has thought about doing this at one time or another. There's too much risk in what is called a "Polish middle".

how about making a -1 line by combining the -1.5 and the Wings instead of taking the -1.5 straight? At least that way you aren't at risk for losing both.

Thats what I thought....my posted play is just the Wings on PL, but just wanted feedback from the whole board!! I know there is money to be made here, with minimal risk, especially since the Yotes are plus money on the PL themselves, at +1.5 goals for about even money or a little better!!

Thanks

I wouldn't call it jackass, I'm sure the bookies would love you giving them those type of bets.

SIA has MOV props that are an excellent value (on one) in NHL.
