After looking at the rankings, I'm not so sure....they got a long way to go in 2 of the 3 polls (currently 7th) LSU is probably going to leapfrog Georgia in the Harris Poll, which will put them at #2 in that poll. But they will have to leapfrog 3 teams in the USA today poll to get to #2, which of course is entirely possible. But even if they leapfrog those teams, the margin by which they go will only be percentage points above the teams they leapfrog.
I think their biggest hurdle is the computer polls. They are currently 7th, so they probably go to 5. They will get a SOS bump for beating Tennessee, but V tech will get a bigger bump because they beat a higher ranked team, so they can't leap V-tech in the computers. It is debatable that they will leapfrog Georgia or Kansas in that poll, put possible.
We also don't know where Mizzou and WV will be slotted after they're losses...
It will be hilarious if LSU doesn't make it because the computers rank V-tech ahead of LSU, even though they beat that ass pretty bad.
Georgia is still in the best position, but there is an easy argument here for them to get leapfrogged in the human polls.
I think it's really going to come down to the computers. And as I look at it, I think Georgia eeks the #2 slot.
