Yeah, Standford was a shocker but it was still a conf game.

App State, on the other hand, on the road vs. a top 5 team in an obvious "Money for 1 team, easy win for the hosts" type situation is a bigger shocker. Even though we know App St. is a good team, just the whole setup for this makes it the shocker that started off the year of upsets.

App, Pitt, and Stanford all pretty shocking for different reasons.

Tough to believe WV would lay an egg with the title game on the line.

USC was banged up

APP STATE is a hell of a football team and would be top 50 if a Div 1 program

WV at home a 29 pt favorite playing a bad Pitt team. Horrible, simply horrible, with everything on the line, they choke. Simply got out played all game. If not for some bad calls by the ref the score would have been MUCH worse.

Biggest shocker was ND being 1-9 at one time.

Gamewise, App St barely beating out Stanford.

I picked the Mich game because they scheduled Appl St as a gimme win to open the season. At least Stanford is a Division I school.

actually if you go by pointspread which defines upset i guess the 40+ points syracuse was gettin against louisville would go down as the biggest shocker yet hardly anyone sees it that way based on votes.

I would think that upsets in Colorado might become common. Hawkins came there from Boise St. and their rep was playing above their heads at home.
