The ball went from his fingertips to the palms of his hands. Once it settled in his palms his feet were not in bounds. I guess the officials felt that since he "controlled" the ball from his fingertips to his palms that it was under control. I would have called it a bobble but I don't know the exact rule there.

They should have gone for it on 4th and 1 in their own end , at the end of the game.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but they were running all over NEW england all night and in these types of games you have to "Take" the game.
