Tedford? The next big game he wins will be the 1st. The best coaches do more with less, not less with more. Recruiting and coaching are two different skills. Bozo the Carroll is the perfect example. He is turning into Toledo Tom going for every 4th down.

recruiting is a part of being a college football coach. so, recruiting is a part of the debate.

Flavor of the week is Brian Kelly. Best unknown probably Chris Peterson, but that won't last. Last 5 years you have to include Pete Carroll, Jim Tressell, and Urban Meier. If anyone says Miles or Mack Brown they immediately go to the ignore list.

Mack for UT would have to be near the top. Natl Champ winner and a recruiting machine.

Allright!!! Here comes the ignore!!!

tough to argue with Erickson's record. I don't know if he is actually a good coach, but he has won everywhere, and two of those places (WSU, Ore St) aren't easy places to win. Shady dude, certainly, but he gets the job done and when he has elite talent, he has really excelled (Miami and Ore St).

Mack Brown is HORRIBLE. Can recruit priest to a whore house but he is a horrendous coach.

Of course you threw Bozo in there. Don't make me list the 20 reasons why he does not belong

im not sure that hes as great a recruiter as everyone makes him out to be. he gets 90% of his guys from his state. texas puts deadlines on guys to commit and if they dont commit by then, they'll take back their offer. they did that with l creer last year, an all american rb from texas, and he ended up at tennessee. kids in texas want to go to texas. stoops has taken some great players from that state in recent year....this year is no different.

understandable, really isn't much to like about him. He bailed on Wyoming in the middle of the night (literally) before ever coaching a game, quit on SF (not in the leaving sense, in the stopped trying sense) and left Miami on probation.

UT was not very good this year but they still win 9-10 games every year. he did win a Nat Champ against a very good USC team so it's doubtful that he's horrible.

hahahaha, he was exposed pretty bad this year for what he doesn't know about coaching college football. I don't think he will make that mistake in future years.

Dennis Erickson is a top 10 (maybe 15) coach in college football. Two rings, and he took Oregon State, arguably the worst program in 50 years, almost to the top (and if they weren't called Oregon State, to the top). He also coached ASU "up" to 10-2...there is not 10-2 talent on that team, and if Koetter was still the coach they would probably won 7 games at best. Erickson can get a kid to run through a brick wall...sometimes getting kids to just believe in themselves ups their game twofold.
