That is a monster trade...wow.

Tigers must be able to extend Cabrera.

Willis scares me a little bit though...the abuse index that Girardi and Gonzo put him thru was high. That left arm has alot of wear on it. Would not be surprised if he broke down.

What a deal though.

Now everything else should start falling into place like domino's.

Holysmoke...

What do you make of the reports that Chubby has lost weight? Is getting in shape?

Have they been reporting that in FLA?

I will believe it when I see it in spring training.

saw him in Miami when they swept the Cubs close up and he moved like a sloth.

I was pretty shocked to see him look like a fat old man.

havent seen him since so will be equally shocked if he is in shape now

Whether Miggy C is overweight or not, the guy can hit the ball out of the park. Huge pickup. I don't know a lot about the players Detroit gave besides that Miller has a great arm.

A good trade for both teams. I see this one turning out to benefit the Marlins the most as they get two of the tougher positions to find in CF and SP. The only thing i would worry about is playing Maybin too early. He could use at least another year in the minors. Miller is already better than Willis and Miggy is one of the best hitters in baseball, but he's going to be at 1b or DH within 2-3 years. The marlins are the best in baseball at trading for young talent that pan out. Their roster is stacked for another cheap run in 2-3 yrs.

Will be interesting to see if he is in better shape...

He can rake it...no one can argue that.

But if he is in good shape, would think his defense would improve and he may be able to put up even better numbers.

Brandon Inge...nice knowing ya.

Maybin is supposed to be a superstar CF'r right?

Agree that this is a good trade...but the Tigers should see the quickest benefits in '08

There's no arguing that the Tigers benefit most immediately, Tony. My thoughts on the Marlins making another run were not based solely on this trade. I enjoy what they do as a team in keeping the salary low and still competing. It's too bad they are in Miami where noone appreciates it. We will see if Maybin ends up as a star. I have my doubts about him, but I love miller.
