.18 seconds home run just about every time. I doubt hitting a fastball would be this easy. I miss the ball 50% of the time at 70mph batting cages

reaction time is one thing, reaction time+ hand/eye coordination is another

The fastball (the really really fast fastball....like 85+) ended my college career. Couldnt hit it. One of the toughest things to do in all of sports.

Same for me, but only a singles hitter..Maybe I bat lead-off for your team WVU and you can bat clean-up and help pad your stats for your contract yr.

It wasnt the fastball for me, I could hit the 90 mph it was the nasty curveball or the sinker that pretty much got me. The fastball I could react and get my hands out in front of the hitting zone but when that ball starts to move when your ready for it to do something else can be veryyyy difficult

I lived off of curveballs and junk, smacking them around to all fields. The better pitches who threw smoke I couldnt touch. Thats when I started playing softball.

... are you bragging???? That is pretty high.

If you played baseball, no way. I'm not trying to brag, but once your timing is set your not going to miss many....and if you played your timing will be set at pitch 2. 50% for a guy that was a star track runner like WVU is pretty good. I've been to cages with machines that weren't calibrated very well, but you shouldn't even go in those cages.

They say those 70 mph cages are really 90+ mph....no way, facing a guy that throws 90 mph is way harder to hit than any cage I've been in that was 70 mph.

I'll tell you something else to, something that was unheard of when I was a kid. But 12 and 13 year olds are being tought to pound fastballs. You go to the indoor coaching facilities with top-flight cages and check out these little dudes pounding the ball at the highest speed settings. It's pretty awesome.

I am a fast fukker, but baseball hitter I am not. I can hit the ball from the cages, but those pitches can often hit the same spot time and time again. I have no clue about the speed. I know 70mph seemed like 170. Also when I hit the ball it was not normally a solid contact. I usually just got a piece and foul tipped it or bounced it 5 feet from the plate. Younger kids that were maybe 14 or 15 were making great contact and were hitting probably 75% of the pitches.

last time I went, I swung at maybe 100 balls and my hands and arms were pretty damn sore. It took me about a dozen pitches to finally make contact, but after 20 or 30 it was not that hard. I bet major league and maybe even college players could hit 95% of the pitches pretty easily with decent contact
