It looks like the Saints organization is coming to grips with the reality that Reggie Bush is a utility player — a poor man's Eric Metcalf.

Bush, the next Gale Sayers, wasn't overrated. He's every bit as good as Sayers. The NFL changed from Sayers' era. There are far more high-end athletes on the defensive side of the ball, which negates Bush's speed and elusiveness. In today's NFL, Sayers would be a utility player, too. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7533748?MSNHPHMA

Dumb article IMO. Reggie hasn't had any holes to run through this year. Adrian Peterson and LT would be struggling behind that line as well.

And I'm not even a Bush homer... I argued my ass off that Mario Williams was a better choice for the Texans if anyone remembers.

Me too. However, I'm sure one poster from South Florida will disagree. Can you guess who it is?

He has been in the leauge 2 years and if not for bad weather playing AT CHIC in the playoffs he would have been in the super bowl last year . If Saints host that game in the dome they beat Chic . Which means he would have helped lead a bs who knew team to the Super Bowl in his first year .

There is no doubt that the play calling , the O line and blocking make the superstars more so than them being from some other planet and being so much better than everyone else .
Bush is a monster and really players have better years than others , down year is not uncommon ... who knows how great he can be next year .
More on how he does will most likely depend on the players he has around him on the offense and the (coach) play calling more so than Bush as a player ....

As I like to say ............."IF" my Aunt had Balls she'd be my Uncle.

as a Reggie Bush keeper league Fantasy owner I can attest , this is my worst pickup in 17 years of fantasy. He's overated,Hes and underachiever , he couldnt hold Gale Sayers jockstrap or Walter Paytons mouthpiece- unless ofcourse you call catching 5 yard passes all day superstar material ,well I don't.

I don't see Bush doing anything great in his career. He has already come out and stated that what he did in college he can't do in the NFL. In college he was able to use his speed to run to the sidelines before cutting upfield. This is the NFL, where everyone is fast for the most part. He will never be a featured back. He needs to stick to special teams and catch passes out of the backfield.

i havent posted in a while because nerve in my leg keep naging me but i had to post on this issue.i understand the league has to promote player so the fans will stay interested and spend money ,but this has to be the dumbest comparison that i have ever seen in my life.bush is young and baring injuries has many years left he will never, ever be better than gayle sayers.if sayers hadnt hurt his knees and had a short carear he would be up there with jim brown ,emmit smih and barry sanders ,stat wise.

reggie bus couldn't carry Sayers Jock strap. What a joke. Do something in your career before you start comparisons to HOF type talent.

They need to just work him in as a receiver and let him return punts. He also needs to seriously hit the weight room this off-season, or he will not have a very long career in the NFL.
