Thanks to any and all that served, though few remain with us i'd like for us all to think of them on this day. Without their service the freedoms enjoyed today would certainly be much different.

Thanks to all who have served, but I do not feel very free at this point in time

This day is pale in comparison to what happened on 9/11, but teazeman is right, the freedoms that you enjoy are sometimes not realized until you really, really think about it...

Compared to what? I think those of us who live here in the U.S. take for granted what we have. It's easy to do unless you have actually have lived in some type of oppressive regime where you have no rights whatsoever.

Say what you will about the U.S., but we have it good for the most part. I have lived in places where just having running water you are considered lucky.

Amen, brother. Like inviting the family over for Thanksgiving only to have the whiny shit cousin sit on his ass complaining, not lifting a finger to help. And of course he's the first at the table, complaining his plate isn't full. Screw him - go somewhere else.

Not like this happened recently to me or anything.

You would expect this to be a big thing here....and there are articles in our local paper...

...but we take things like this for granted, even here....and the biggest thing now is the thunderstorms....lol

History is usually forgotten by most which is why we are doomed to repeat our errors. Even if we do remember the event we don't learn what we should.

"freedoms"--It takes a lawyer or LAWYERS; in our time to determine our freedoms. In the 1940's things were MUCH simplier!

In my opinon, just protecting and standing up for the weak and ignorant...don't have to win, just have to do what is right and justifiable...

History is usually forgotten by most which is why...

using the term "turkey day" is devoid of meaning.

OTOH there is still oil slowing seeping from the Arizona after 66 years.
