Local San Diego affiliate will show KC-Den not Pitt-NE

While most ardent NFL fans watch DirecTV or head to sports bars, one still has to question the thinking behind KFMB-TV Channel 8's decision to air this AFC West matchup instead of one of the games of the year in the San Diego market.

In the local media column, the station manager said that they would air the divisional game because of the significance to the Chargers chances of clinching the division.

tv station managers constantly make these types of boneheaded decisions....my favorite one is when the score is 42-0 with 10 minutes to go and they stay with the game when they could switch to a better one

do the local stations actually get to choose in all cases or does the NFL have guidelines and rules to follow on that?

back when NBC had all the AFC games our nbc affilate would set up a poll and actually let viewers decide which game they would show...they would announce on the news friday which game it would be
