NFL sources: Jets spied on Patriots

Posted: Wednesday December 12, 2007 08:11AM ET

According to league sources familiar with the situation, the Jets were caught using a videotaping device during a game in Foxborough last season that resulted in the removal of a Jets employee. After Gillette Stadium officials saw him using the recorder early in the game, he was told to stop and leave the area. He had been filming from the mezzanine level between the scoreboard and a decorative lighthouse in an end zone. The camera was not confiscated by the Patriots or stadium security. Tuesday night the Jets admitted that they did videotape the game and their employee was confronted, but said they had permission from the Patriots to film from that location.

I saw this but didn't post it because I would unfairly be labled a homer.
You see, the Pats didn't make a big deal out of it while Mangini the Rat squealed like a cheese eater.
Now let me ask you a question (the board) of those who have jobs I know they are only a few here.Do you rat on people at work or try to handle it in house or do you run like a fuckin cheese eater? Especially the guy who rats you out learned everything he knows from you and didn't have a pot to piss in.

I'm a company man and believe that if a company employs you and pays you a salary and takes good care of you, then you should return the favor by looking after the company.

Now that doesn't mean you run and tell the boss all the dirt on the employees if something deemed minor is going on, you should try to handle that first with the person you have a problem with. On the other hand, if someone is stealing from the company or doing something that will be detrimental to the company in the longterm and handling it with the person involved has not solved the problem, then you take it to the powers that be. You got to have some middle ground.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"We taped the game, is what we taped, and we taped end-zone copy of the game, and we tape a double end zone, which is standard operating procedure for us," Mangini said Wednesday.

"We request that every single road game, and it's usually granted if physically it's possible. And when people request it from us, we do the same thing: We grant it."

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"We do it every time we go on the road," Mangini repeated. "We ask for permission to do it. It's within the league rules, and when people ask us to do it, we grant it, as well."

Of course, my friend who knows these things said that the reason the Pats spied on the Jets was because the Jets spied on the Pats last year. He also said that the Pats dude who got caught tried to make it as obvious as possible. Don't know the motive behind it but this dude is rock solid with info.

The story is way deeper then just that...if you want to start where the bickering back & forth started...it basically originated w/ former Pats' linebacker Matt Chatham.

Its been a long drawn out battle, as Mangini has seemingly broke many unwritten rules about leaving an organization...and by snitching to the NFL about videos, was one way Mangini was able to give a counter punch.

Th saga still plays out to this day...not just by the media, videos, etc...the Jets still claim 90% of the Pats' players that are cut...they either bring them in for interviews, sign em, or claim them...ie: Kareem Brown, Artrelle Hawkins, etc.

Just saying...it goes way wider than whats on paper for us to read into.

We have a saying at work (not very original) "what happens in the data center, stays in the data center).

Now having said that, we had a PoS that didn't do shit, slept on the job for more than an hour, and constantly came in late.
Whenever he came in late, he'd sign in for his usual time, even though he was like 90 minutes late.

We tried telling him, "you are committing time card fraud" tried to knock sense into him, but it never sunk in

After a few weeks we had no choice to rat him out.
Does that make us ratters ? No !

Bill, yeah yeah,ok.But you sound like you been around enough to understand their are plenty of buisnesess that have skirted rules as a regular way of doing buisness, wether in the insurance industry or selling used cars or most anything including sportsbooks and sports players cheating the taxman. There are just unwritten rules that are not fucked with because they either have, has, or have been affiliated with indulging in these dicrepancies.
Mangini knew Belichick did this shit and he was part of it and did it himself.
This incident reminds me of a friends going out on Friday nites and chasing woman in a bar and one of the friends calling your wife and ratting on you because you are the one that got the girl that he was chasing.
