This man has been the poster child for the entire steroid baseball era, the whipping boy for the media and fans alike. The truth is he cheated, just like 100's of others, in baseball and football. He's the only one that had to go up against a federal grand jury about it.

Think about it. How many media reports have you seen specifically about Bonds? Stories in newspapers? Shit, Tim Dahlberg has spent literally 25% of the last two years tearing this guy a new one. How many stories do you think he has written about Roger Clemens? or Albert Pujols?

Why hasn't anyone investigated Roger Clemens as much as they have investigated Barry Bonds? Why aren't there grand jury hearings implicating Roger Clemens?

What a joke this has been. Barry Bonds is an asshole. Unfortunately for him, he's a black asshole.

Was Pujols definitely named in the report?

I don't care who was named in the report. If you think just the people who are named in the report are the only guilty ones, than you are just as ignorant as the ones that have been hating on Bonds the past 5 years.

I can think of 10 guys off the top of my head that I haven't seen named in this report that I'd bet my life savings took steroids...starting with the Giles brothers.

Apparently, Kirk Rumdomski (current Car Wash owner) did not know Boone...apparently the whole Mitchell Report is based around Rudomski's testimony.

How the hell did this cost $10+ million.

Serves no purpose...just an attempt to clear Selig.

Difference is at least there was a point in Bonds career when he was incredible and didn't use. Clemens, according to the report truly has never been great w/o Steroids.

After trade to toronto, Clemens only year not on juice was 1999 : his era? 4.60

report implicates only years 1998-2001

per testimony of former trainer Brian McNamee said he injected Roger Clemens with Winstrol about four times per week over a several-week period in 1998.

Clemens told McNamee the steroids "had a pretty good effect on him," during his time with the Blue Jays. The Yankees went on to hire McNamee, supposedly at Clemens' recommendation, and worked with much of the team. He was paid by both the team and Clemens at the time. Clemens allegedly quit using steroids for a while, but he resumed during the middle of the 2000 season. McNamee wasn't retained by the Yankees after the 2001 season, and McNamee has no knowledge whether Clemens continued to use after that time

"And just like Bonds, you have to wonder why it was ever necessary. Clemens was an all-time great back in the 1980s and early 1990s, when he was presumably clean. He had three Cy Youngs and a MVP by 1991, when he was just 28. He didn't need to cheat to become rich and famous."

This investigation had nothing on his Houston years...where he had unreal stats.

After this build up & total millions of cost...would've imagined they could get more than 2 or 3 people's testimonies.

Well said....Christ he isnt even the worst Giant of all time...That title belongs to Kevin Mitchell.....So what was the big deal? if Clemens had been outed before Bonds was...the media would have blacked out the story until it completely boiled over....to the point where it couldn't be ignored....

I think the answer to this question is pretty obvious.

Fuck Bonds, and here's why:

Yes, he wasn't the first player to use steroids, but he was the best player to use them. And he admitted using them (the Cream and the Clear), but lied about knowing what they were (what a joke).

And he didn't need to use them: He was already a HoF'er, a great player. He wasn't trying to make a roster, he wasn't trying to make some good money, he wasn't trying to realize his dream of playing in the bigs, because he had already accomplished those things.

He did it for the glory. He used steroids to pass the 70 dongs of McGwire, who he despised (quite possibly for racial reasons), and he continued to use steroids to pass Aaron, who he obviously didn't respect (as most of folks do).

He did it to be a prick. So Fuck him.

obviously Bonds isn't the only guy on roids, I find this whole charade disgusting and whenever I hear some tool on the radio bad-mouthing Bonds I want to slap them silly.

I'm not condoning steroid use but give me a break, Bonds doesn't deserve being singled out like that.

Heaven forbid he takes roids to pass up McGwire who had more acne on his back than Norv Turner's face in highschool.
