As someone who grew up on sports in the 70's , I am getting sick of sports in general.

All we ever hear about is off the field stuff.

It was T.O. , or all the thugs in the NBA , the steriod issue, the Mike Vick fiasco and everything else you can think of during the last several years.

I dont remember ever hearing about anything except the games themselves back in the 70's .

In fact if it wasnt for gambling , I wouldnt watch 1 minute of the NBA.

Thank god for college sports.

I agree. I feel like I am just wasting time and could be doing something more meaningful.

i'm only 28 and i see where you're coming from. espn is really kililng the shit for people who actually like the games and not all the nonsense. i really don't need to see two guys screaming at eachother as a clock ticks away.

i think gambling contributes to this, as we lose passion for teams and being a fan.

I hate the NBA. It has sucked since the middle of the Bulls 2nd run. I am sick stars getting calls and that BS.

NHL trying to becoming a higher scoring league. Just play hockey. 1-0 is same as 6-5 to me.

MLB too many games and about 8 teams have a chance.

NFL is good, but players only care about getting paid. I am down on players for that, but it dilutes the effort in games and eventually leads to bad football.

I pray the NBA folds.

It is hard to like sports when you care more than the players.

Notice you guys are only talking about professional sports, and not the college games. I don't think all the players are in it for the money on the pro level, but the college kids give it their all.

The only sport I truly enjoy is college football. Ironically the BCS, which everyone venomously hates, is probably what keeps it most interesting. Second in enjoyment is March Madness, but the regular college hoops season is unwatchable. The NFL is a distant third.

I have lost a lot of interest over time as well. I am now 34, but it started ~5-8 years or so ago. I had little interest in NFL until I started playing fantasy football, which was in 00. My interest rose again, now it is back down. I have always preferred college football and still do, more excitement, energy, interest and breadth of offenses and defenses.

I lost interest in basketball, both NBA and college, a long time ago. If I watch a total of 2 hours worth of hoops prior to March Madness or NBA playoffs that is a lot, same goes for baseball and its playoffs (although I watch slightly more).

I watch more soccer than anything else. Interests and priorities change, I would rather spend time with my wife and kids than sit on my ass and watch the NBA or NFL for that matter.

FHM,

Your last line says it all for me. I still watch college football for 12 hours on Saturday, but don't have the same interest in other sports.

I understand how you feel. One of my resolutions is to give up gambling next year. I've done it before and I think it's time to stop again and worry about other things in my life.

I wonder how much sports i'll actually watch. I don't even watch the NBA when I have a bet on the game, so that won't change. I'll probably watch CBB during March Madness.

I'll still watch the Mets and Jets, but I can't imagine i'll be tied to the TV watching football every weekend, as I am now.

when we are all on our death bed I believe we will greatly regret the time we wasted gambling on sports. all the time taken from family and friends and enjoying life.
