We all know Barry Bonds took steroids. Why is it so hard to believe that Roger did?? He has all the signs of Steroid use. just because he talks with the media and is likable? Is that all it takes. So if Barry was a nicer guy would we believe he didn't take steroids. Or is it a racial issue?? I'm a white guy but I tend to think it is racial. Every WHITE guy on sportscenter right now looks like their dog just died. No one wants to believe this report. they spent 60 million on this report and almost a year. Don't you think this has some validity to it. Why can't a guy like Roger Clemens come out and be a man and admit he used steroids. I hope he has some uncomfortable moments. I hope he has to draw the shades for a month or so. i hope his wife is embarrassed at charity events for 6 months. I hope his kid gets harassed for a while. There is no other recourse for overpaid cheating athletes. he is a Millionaire a 100 times over so this is the only thing that can make him squirm. this make me love a guy like Greg maddux who is only a few games behind Roger in wins and is doing it the right way. I think there should be a hall of Fame for players that did borderline HOF numbers without steroids. THIS IS A FUKKIN JOKE!!! I hope Roger Pays for this.

You can take 150 wins and 3 Cy Youngs off his record too.

I mean if you look at it according to the reports. Roger's career seems to just fit a mold. In 1993 he had a 4.46 ERA. I really think in '93 his stuff started to deteriorate and I really think he might have started as early as then. I mean his career has more peaks and valleys than a mountain range and I really think he probably told himself, time and time again, that he can do it with out them. Then when he tried he fell flat on his face so he turned back to them.

I think Clemens started way earlier than Bonds and I think Clemens career is much more tainted. At least Barry would have set records, like 500-500, w/o steroids. Roger, I honestly don't believe, would have reached 300 wins, 4000 K's and he wouldn't have been anywhere past 3 CY's.

Guy needs to be castrated and ridiculed for his actions. Especially since he sat on his high perch and acted like he was better than everyone. This is about as bad as Schilling getting called out on this, I wish he did.

Sure make you wonder about those last few seasons when he didn't start until May. Those darn family reasons.

Has Roger ever failed a drug test?

Hearsay doesn't hold up in any court.

You can apply the aforementioned statement to that PoS Bonds.

Why do people continue to defend this guy? I think he is more obvious than Bonds.

HE CHEATED PEOPLE. Face the facts.

This was a multi-million dollar investigation. Don't give me the whole, his trainer had an agenda bullshit. You don't lie to keep yourself out of jail because all that does is get you put in longer, and I doubt Mitchell forced him into a testimony that convicted Clemens. So based on those facts he told Mitchell when he was asked for the truth.

Why make it up at this point? If he gets caught lying than he goes to jail longer. If he doesn't say anything about Clemens at all he still probably gets his sentence reduced for ratting on others.

As Fairwarning said. Jesus Roger missed the start of seasons to avoid the damn thing. He has gotten enormous in size just like Bonds, and he has gotten better with age.

Face the facts, people deteriorate with age, they don't improve.

As said earlier Michael Jordan and Jerry Rice worked just as hard, if not harder, than Bonds and Clemens and they deteriorated with age. Because that is what the body does.

Stop defending a guy who cheated just like Bonds.

Mike and Mike in the morning defending Clemens on now defending Bonds...

I find it hilarious that no one defended Bonds before but now they are forced to if they want to defend Clemens. This is a joke.

Yeah but it is hilarious that people are defending Bonds now as well. Saying well he still was great w/o cheating. Something people struggled to realize in the past, but now that they have to defend their holy, hyped up, grail Clemens they understand they can't contradict themselves so they defend Bonds as well.

Technically still hearsay.

Hearsay is the legal term that describes statements made outside of court or other judicial proceedings.

Technically the statement wasn't made in court so it is technically still hearsay. Only reason it wouldn't be hearsay is because technically, under the law, hearsay is acceptable in certain documents such as Mitchell's report but it is still hearsay.

You couldn't use that document in court against Clemens. You would need the trainer to testify in court that it actually happened otherwise it is hearsay.

It is outrageous. Funny thing is that in my opinion Clemens is just as big of a dick as Bonds. I actually think Clemens is a more selfish player than Bonds. If I was Barry I would come out and ask them where the defense was before Clemens got caught.

I HATE BARRY for the record but the clear bias by the media makes me sick. You can like the guy but both are cheaters, so you can't ridicule one for years and then say lets give the other guy a chance to prove himself.

Anyone who thinks this is an idiot. Bonds got steamrolled because he's an asshole and he started breaking records when he started steroids. It's much easier to put together that Bonds was cheating because he got so freaking big and all the homeruns. A pitcher using steroids? I'm not even 100% positive how that helps a pitcher. Most people aren't either, so it's not that big of a deal. Why am I so smart when everyone else is so dumb?

If either Barry or Clemens would just come out and tell the truth
there would be a lot of forgiveness doled out.

But, those assholes just keep lying through their teeth.

Shit, there is 9 pages of info on Clemens alone in that report.

He's stupid for taking roids, and even stupider for continuing to
lie in the face of all the obvious evidence.

So why do you think he took the Roids if it didn't help. I mean this is exactly what this thread is all about. Folks who are trying to make reasons on why he wouldn't have done it and this Mitchell list of roid users has several pitchers on the list. I guess they used roids to get high?...lol:WTF:

No, I think the roids probably did help, but that isn't the point. Most people don't think of roids helping a pitcher a lot, so when pitchers use them, who cares. People see roids + big muscles + big homeruns.

Let me break it down for you and your simple mind.

Steroid's increase strength, and tightness of the tendons. This leads to more velocity on your ball. The more velocity on Clemens newly invented pitch, his splitter, when he was older make the ball have more movement and makes it much tougher to hit. Also his fastball would gain velocity. His grip strength and wrist strength would increase movement on his two seam fastball. You see how simple this is to swallow?

The stronger you are the better your grip on the ball and the faster your arm moves, meaning you can snap off breaking pitches at much quicker paces creating a tighter spin = a later break and faster break. Who have you talked to that doesn't understand how it helps pitchers. Same way it helps hitters makes them stronger.

Also Clemens started breaking records when he got on the juice as well. Why don't you sit your racist ass down at the little kiddie table and talk about the sins you've committed. If you don't think that Clemens is an asshole, and that the records he broke had no meaning then you need to read a baseball book.

Cy Young awards, strike outs, wins. All of those are important and he passed some very important people on that list, and was considered the best modern era pitcher.

They are on an equal field, but Bonds is black and does receive more scrutiny. They are both pricks.

Also look at tiny little Roger when he came into the league. The transformation is equal. I would guess they both put on the same amount of weight since they got into the show.
