Is it safe to say that if these guys didn't take steroids that you have to consider them even that much better than players in the past? Because they didn't cheat and played at unbelievably high levels in an age where other players were cheating.

Those players will benefit greatly from this.

Ortiz
A-ROD (I don't care what anyone says. Guy is clean)
Jeter
Roberto Alomar

Add to the list or refute mine. I don't see any of the above guys doing juice but you never know anymore.

How do we know any of the above listed didnt juice?

Well I can name a few.

Thomas I have already broken down how we know.

Other guys for obvious reasons.

Factors I looked at.

Consistency, No abnormal changes in size or statistics, Declined with age. Little things like that. Am I a 100% positive absolutely not, but I am pretty confident that they didn't cheat.

I think Nolan Ryan and Cal Ripken, Jr. are suspect too. One threw a no-hitter at age 4 and the other played in over 2600 straight games. Why do they get a pass?

A-Rod was juicing like crazy too, btw.

Pujols. Never had a steroid like game, doesn't have the steroid body, and yet there were people that wanted to say that he used.

He developed during the steroid era though. When Pujols was in his teens, even a lot of high school baseball players were juicing. It's been around Pujols since his teens, and I'd be surprised if he didn't get juiced up at some point, as it was so common. He was exposed to roids like todays' kids are exposed to the internet.

Actually knowing a bunch of high school kids who were top recruits. It is very rare for top recruits, and high school prospects to juice for the following reasons: They are the best and never have a doubt in their minds, no one has ever competed with them so they don't feel the need to cheat, they are very arrogant and cocky (my best friend being one of them) and think they are gods gift to the world so they don't cheat because they feel like they don't need to.

The kids who contemplate cheating are the kids right on the border of getting scholarships to some schools. Top notch prospects still are very high on themselves in high school so odds are they wouldn't cheat because they feel they are too good to cheat.
