Barber Maroney?

i like it. i would go with them before brown/williams (aub) but my 2nd right now is felix jones/D Mcfadden until someone gives me something better.

Jones put up 9.1 ypc and only had 4 less tds than Mcfadden.

im not sure how that could suggest that they compare favorably to jones/mcfadden. i remember Stewart being recruited, i was hoping he would leave the west....hes a great back.

I'm just posting players I've seen play in person. Jerimiah Johnson is vastly underated. Before he got hurt, he was playing better than Stewart through 6 games. I would entertain a discussion on McFadden/Jones vs these two.

yeah i like johnson, i remember some people in california were mad that the big schools there didnt seem to recruit him real hard. he was having a great year, but not many consider him a real first day draft prospect. jones and mcfadden would each go ahead of stewart or johnson this year.

Looks like Rail has fired off about 5 that are on par.

For the old-timers: Glenn Davis/Doc Blanchard

I agree with Railbird - The Pony Express at SMU.

Eric Dickerson and Craig James. In 1981 alone Dickerson scored 19 touchdowns and gained 1400 plus yards. The next year Craig James became the first player since Rice's Billy Howton in 1951 to be named All-SWC at two positions, running back and punter.

The most storied duo though goes back to the 1940's when Army had a great team in the mid 40's led by the combo of Glenn Davis who played "Mr. Outside" to fullback Felix "Doc" Blanchard's "Mr. Inside". They combined to lead the greatest of all Army teams. The Cadets were undefeated national champions in 1944 and 1945 and undefeated with a tie in 1946, the year Davis won the Heisman. In those Davis-Blanchard years, Army went 27-0-1.

I know it's from back in the day but Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside were household names to all college football fans and for that matter the entire country during that era....
