Recently my younger brother, 15 years old, borrowed his friends car and hit a curb with it. One problem, legal driving age is 17. He was never the brightaest and when I got the call telling me about this I was not shocked at all.
Apparently he fucked this car up bad because the damages are as high as $6,700. Also, this car was apparently a piece o crap this kid bought from his neighbor for cheap. He claims it was $4,500 his father claims it was $7,000. My father is liable for nothing and aside from paying the 3 tickets, underage driving, careless driving, and fleeing the scene of an accident he has to higher a lawyer and all that bull shit. My dad offered to buy this guys kid a used car for $3,000 and this guy declined saying he wanted it repaired. The car is a 1999 ford something...nothing special and probably won't be the same.
My father did not know this guy and this guy is kind of being a dick about the whole situation.
Being liable for nothing what do you choose to do here, pay the expenses, buy a used car, tell him to fuck off, or what?
Just curious because my father and I keep arguing about what to do.
