Synthetic THC is in fact available by prescription, but no doctor is going to write a script for more than 100 per month.
Additionally, Marinol (the most common brand name) costs on average a bit over $25 per pill.
If a patient is fortunate to have an insurance copay they can likely get that down to about a couple bucks per, but they will still face the monthly cap of 100. (30-60 is far more common)
