Schilling is the textbook example of a walking asshole. Sings the praises of Clemens and says how much he helped him become better as a pitcher and than a knife in back. Go back to campaigning for Bush and keep trying to wipe the blood off your hands you POS.

At least he is consistent. He has ripped Bonds and stated that Canseco's whole career is a sham. If he's gonna rip into Bonds then you gotta rip into Clemens as well.

I think that's canard. After it was disclosed it was fake blood, it was disclosed it was real blood.

I don't blame him for being upset. Say what you will about Schilling, he has never cheated, has always showed up to play a full season, has made road trips with the team (his son's American Legion games notwithstanding) has always said exactly what he thinks, and has been a winner everywhere he's been. A legitimate Hall of Famer.

He didn't rip anyone in front of his 'colleagues' at Congress.

He was specifically brought there because of his opinionated attitude...yet failed to voice an opinion.

I would think that someone who is that vocal would be willing to back it up if possible. How that's done, I don't know. If you're using illegal substances you would probably not want to rock the boat to grab any attention.

He wasn't brought there to rip anybody. he has openly called out all the high profile players he believes has cheated though.

I don't, of course. But he wasn't named in the Mitchell report, and I've never heard any allegations about him. Besides, his physique is pretty much the same as it was when he broke in with the Orioles, save for the few pounds everyone puts on as they age.

c'mon now...seriously why was Schilling asked there, instead of other high profile players? Easy answer.

Everyone else there was brought there because of prior accusations or involved in the Canseco book...not Schilling.

And much like Sosa...who forgot how to speak English...Schilling forgot how to formulate an opinion.

But he had no problem formulating these opinions on 38pitches.com or by ripping Barry Bonds on WEEI...even accusing him of extra marital affairs & tax evasion...as well as steroids.

Consistency should not be an adjective to describe Schilling when it comes to steroid accusations.

There are hundreds of players who used drugs not on that list. Maybe the HOF needs a little building out back for all players who played after 1985.

I agree that he probably could have said more but I do like this statement by him:

He disputed Canseco's assertion that the major leagues and its players would be unable to police themselves, saying the more than 90 percent of players who don't use steroids want those who do to be exposed.

"I think the fear of public embarrassment and humiliation upon being caught is going to be greater than any player ever imagined," Schilling said.
