Steelers running back Willie Parker suffers broken leg in first quarter.

ST. LOUIS -- Pittsburgh Steelers running back Willie Parker, the NFL's leading rusher, broke a bone in his lower right leg in the first quarter Thursday night against St. Louis.

Parker, who entered the game with 1,317 yards and consecutive 100-yard games, had one carry for a 1-yard loss before leaving the game.
It wasn't clear how Parker was injured.

Najeh Davenport, who entered the game with 349 yards and a 4.9-yard average, replaced Parker in the lineup. Davenport had a season-best 65 yards on 12 carries in the first half and also caught two passes for 44 yards and a touchdown, helping the Steelers take a 24-17 lead.

Hate to say it, but this is a blessing in disguise for the Steelers. I wish the best for Willie, but Najeh is a better back than he is. Willie dances too much, isn't very fast, and bounces outside way too much. Najeh can finish a run, hit the hole, and get good yards on every play.

Get well soon Willie, but hopefully this opens up Tomlin's eyes that Najeh should start.

It won't matter if their D plays like they did tonight. Damn good thing that Hines can always be relied upon, because no one else can.

Hines & his hands won that game for the Squealers.

Of course I am in the Super Bowl of my fantasy football league! Parker is my 2nd best player on my team!

Taking a zero for his point total will really hurt me!! I need Farve to throw 5 TD passes and maybe a rushing touchdown now!
