Fishy...very fishy IMO

im thinking so too but when i go to their website, its looks professional with contact numbers and email addresses, the history of their company and other things. thats why im on the seesaw here. I dont really understand why they need someone else to cash their checks though?

Go ahead and look into it, but you know as well as I do that they aren't going to pay someone $450+ a week to do something that they very easily do for free.

The pay is only $450 a week! That isnt very much if you ask me!

But you do need to be carefull off of all of the job websites. You will get all sorts of bogus job offers from both sites. Most of them will ask you to fax them a resume with DOB and SS number included along with a DL

This is another one of the Nigerian scams.

They pick a well know name company and impersonate the HR director, company president, etc.

They then have you receive bogus checks (fraud with correct acct # and info but never authorized by the check writer - you will see a lot of business accounts and you won't think much of it because they will say they are selling business to business - and sometimes business checks take a long time to bounce becuase the business may not be checking their account every day, fraud checks that way overdraw the writers accounts or checks with account #'s that don't even exist). You can basically go to any office supply company (office max, office depot, staples) and buy the software called checkwrite, the "magnetic ink" and the paper stock that is used for about $250 total.

They have you then forward them the money - in most cases before the checks truly clear, as it can take a long time for some checks to come back, and bam, the bank then comes back to you for the funds. You don't have the funds because you've bank-to-bank wired or sent the funds by moneygram, etc and you're screwed.

If you are familiar with the other Nigerian scam where you send money to get an "inheritance", I have heard of this scame being played in conjunction with the inheritance scam and then since you received the money on behalf of the fraudster you are not linked with them and can end up with a criminal record as well.

DO NOT DO THIS OR EVEN RESPOND TO THE EMAIL. Expect a lot of other emails very similar to this to come from other companys as your email address gets passed along to "the crew".

yeah I had a friend almost fall for another scam. Thats what made me fishy on this one. I wonder why they wouldnt think that some people would just keep the money and not forward it to them. then when they got busted, they can say they sent it to whatever address the original scammers sent them. I wouldnt do that but, some people. damn. ok then. thanks for the heads up.

Sounds fishy, but you could just break down and call some of the contact numbers you've located on the website for verification. . . .

There are a couple of legit gigs like this, but very few. I have a neighbor that does call center work out of her home, but I don't remember for what company. My wife knows, I think. S

Scam. Recently read about a guy who took a similar job. Cashed a certified check for $2500. took 10% for himself and forwarded the balance to the company. When the check bounced he was out $2250. forget it.
