The Cardinals were on the Atlanta 12 yard line and it was 3rd and 5. So he calls a running play that loses 1 yard. So the Cards kick the FG in OT to win the game.

What if the holder muffed the catch? It would have been Atlanta's ball. If they kick the FG on 3rd down and the holder muffs the catch and recovers they can attempt another FG.

Was only listening on radio and announcers made it sound like they were running a play to center kneel and line up the FG better, but then they actually handed it off so it didn't make sense.

I think they actually did that on 2nd down. I was following on sportsline.com and saw that they ran a short play but I don't know for sure if it was to center the ball.

If the game was rigged, wouldn't they have fumbled or somehow turned the ball over? I don't understand how this is an example of a game being rigged.

Sorry to bring common sense into this discussion.

The weren't centering it at all. He ended up kicking it from the left hash mark.

Thanks Tony. That's even dumber on his part than what I wrote. 1st and 10 on the Atlanta 17. They run a 5 yard rushing play and don't center. Then they run 2 more rushing plays and don't center it????

The announcers thought the same after 2nd down. They then said Wisenhunt motioned the kicking team back on 3rd down which led them to speculate that Wisenhunt didn't like the placement of the ball after 2nd down and would then center kneel on 3rd. Of course they didn't do it there either.. that or James didn't listen to his instructions to center it, whatever.
