I'm talking a friendly cash rate to pull a trailer ( not my trailer, but my truck). A trailer with maybe 2-3 Jetskis on it.

Lets say it needs to go 10 miles East of where I live, and I have to go 20 miles West to get it, end up home.

So 20 +20 +10 +10 = 60 miles, maybe do it 2 hours. My truck and gas

What would two hours time and 60 miles distance be worth to pull around a trailer ?

I'm thinking like $100 ?

doug do you have a truck?

Yes, 2000 F-150 4X4 shortbed ,4.2L 6 cyl

should haul a pretty decent trailer, I haven't checked specs on towing, but it should be able to pull a decent sized boat or trailer.

I'm not looking to haul somebody's boat from Hartford to Daytona Beach, more local stuff is what I'm after, but I might be willing to go a few hundred miles.

I'm going to talk to my future step son-in-law about this when he comes to dinner tonight... about what he needs moved around locally with his Jetski shop started last year. I can do that instead of my step-daughter doing it.

He pulls business from another shop about 40 miles away, and a trailer moves the skis ( at a charge). I can easily pull that trailer around for him with my truck, that I recently bought. My step-daughter was driving the stuff around last summer, I think it's time for me take that over, with the truck.

cool. don't hurt your back.

Shit, I'd basically be just the driver ! I honestly have little experience with a trailer, only pulled one briefly 20+ years ago, but I know I can do it... turn the wheel opposite of the way you want the trailer to go.

A low-profile trailer with some skis on it would be perfect to learn on, instead of some big-ass boat blocking my view.

I can quickly learn a trailer.

I'd bet I could teach myself to drive a semi with a 53' trailer in short time ! ... start me with the rig and no trailer, I'll figure it out ! Get myself comfortable with that, then I'd figure out the rest of it.

I'm pretty sure I could figure out a Bulldozer in a few hours.

You must have a lot of free time, pulling trailers, moving furniture, etc. You should start a business.

That would be a side business, moving furniture, pulling a trailer for somebody... just for cash !

If I move the Jetski trailer around twice a day for even $100 a trip, get $200 cash for 4 hours and spend some gas money, I'm OK !

Works for me...

Cash jobs are decent money. I'll haul your couch or whatever for $40 cash if I can do it in an hour, throw in 10 miles (about $3 , if that in gas).

Moving shit ain't hard to do. Much harder to hang a TV, or assemble something, than a straight haul job,IMO.

Never drove one, but at construction sites sometimes a forklift blocked my truck, I ask the operator to move it, he tells me move it yourself, keys are in it, so I move the thing myself .
