My dad just got a HDTV and I had never seen one before. I start watching and I get really dizzy and it gets blurry after about a minute. My eyes hurt for about 15 minutes after watching it. Is this common?

Perhaps you're just overwhelmed at the quality of the picture after all these years watching crappy standard definition. I love my HDTV.

Hmm. I get a headache too. My wife said it was hard for her to watch and gave her a headache but not as bad as me. Everyone else there said it had no ill affect on them. I don't know what to think. It is the same thing that happens right before I get a migraine only without the migraine.

This is very bad and its probably hereditary. You need to take the HDTV and put it up for a contest here on the rx. We all don't want you or your Dad to go blind!

In all seriousness though, you probably are sitting to close to the tv. I know a lot of people get a big tv (60in) and put it in a smaller room or just have the seating to close to the tv.

47" sitting 12ft away. My dad's a freak and he said the according to some formula, 9-12 ft is the recommended distance for best viewing with that size of TV.

I thought this might be common. I guess I will not be watching the Rose Bowl in HD this year. He got the dang thing for the Rose Bowl.

Yeah, until the whole world goes to HD. Maybe it's the TV but it's fine for me when not in HD. Don't know but it pisses me off. My eyes still feel like they are crossed.

Don't know man, and how the hell do you have 8,000 posts already? You are going to break J-mans record.

haha to tell you the truth A LOT came from In game Threads and shit when I was posting throughout games and shit. And during MLB season over the summer. My New Years Resolution is to cut time off the internet to only 1 hour a night. So that will obviously cut into time here. But man back to the HD situation... that is crazy never heard of it before. I think its all in your head how can you not like HD

Is it DLP HD or plasma or LCD? For some reason DLP HD makes me a bit dizzy.
