i see alot of you bragging about how much money you have. do you have enough money to buy up a town??

theres a town in northern new hampshire called berlin. it's an old mill town that is very lacking jobs right now. land and building are selling way below market prices. i MEAN way below. serious investers could reap huge profits.
you would however need to attract business to move into the area so that you would be able to sell these properties to the workers once you got the companies to go there. so if your investment firm or have many connections this might the way to go.
would like to become involved somehow but lack the serious funds to do so.
i do have knowlegde in the construction fields ,planning boards etc. but really would need someone that knows how to recruit big businesses .how would you go about attracting such companys to move there. ??

tax breaks for a certain number of years?
not sure. alot of research to do. but if youi puch in berlin new hampshire. . you'll see theres real bargains there. houses 40-60 k yes they need work and i'm sure land deals are plentiful also.

i'm sure if you worked hard with the board (planning, selectmen) i'm sure this could be done. they need to do something with this town.
it's definately a long term project 10++ years.

ithinkone of the biggest employers there right now could very well be the NH STATE PRISON

Clarkd32...Happens to be 100% right !

To get a Med. to Big Company to your City or State you need to offer
tax breaks and subsidies.....

By doing so...You are offering that Business or Businesses a Reason to come to You.
Your State government would want to do this because it help's create
Jobs...

The type of businesses you want are ..financial, insurance, media or real estate firms....and Manufacturing companies !!! deals for Manufacturing companies get Less of a Tax Break.....And you Really want these type of businesses..Because of the Jobs that it will give to the Locals..

i'm sure the state would probally do something in nature. they are really ,really hurting that way.

the big things is getting manafacturing jobs in there. alot of land avaible though are tied up through the paper companys that were there.

there would be endless hours of research to be done, but i have to think there's money to be made

It is home to several large pulp and paper mills, and has been a center of forest industries since the 1800s.

Paper and pulp mills are the biggest polluters in the world. You can tell when you are within 10 miles of one because the smell is nasty. The smell is worse than the factories of North Jersey, Newark area.

I would be intersted in buying land in the area, but not if the pulp and paper mills are still around.
