The Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year is awarded to the college football coach who best demonstrates responsibility, integrity, and excellence on and off the field.
Team records, player statistics, and community involvement are just a few of the criteria reviewed during the selection process.

Div. 1A - Ron Zook U. of Illinois
Div. 1AA - Jerry Kill, Southern Illinois U.
Div. II - Bill O'Boyle, Chadron St. College (located in Nebraska)
Div. III - John Gagliardi, St. John's U.

Personally I think Ron Zook is an excellent choice, The Illini beat Ohio St and are going to Rose Bowl - not bad...

Last year Greg Schiano of Rutgers was Div 1A winner.

I would've given it to Croom. Who would've thought they could turn their season around. They started with a 45-0 loss to LSU.
