I like Rick Neuheisel and wish him the best at UCLA. I always thought he got a bum rap with that gambling charge, I mean, come on, it's not like he was betting against his team in NCAA football. Why shouldn't an NCAA football coach be allowed to bet on the NCAA hoops tournament?
Of course I also think the NCAA is an anachronism; the athletes (football and basketball) should be paid; classes should be optional; and of course there should be a playoff in div-1 football.
Good Luck, Rick!

I agree with you Doug. I think he got a raw deal at Washington and coaches should be able to participate in office pools as long as it doesn't involve their team. I also think they should be paid.

However, he was caught with recruiting violations while at Colorado and simply went to Washington without any personal penalty. I believe if a coach violates rules he should be punished, not just the school as happened at Colorado.

I'm not sure what "recruiting violations" means. I heard some coach at some NCAA school was in violation of NCAA rules because he talked to the recruit twice on the phone, instead of once. I mean the whole NCAA is an anachronism, designed for the 19th century. We need to get rid of it and have a ruling body that fits into today's game.

And if he went to Washington without any penalty, who's fault is that exactly....Neuheisel's or the NCAA's?
