Its the funniest thing, every once in a while I will be in a situation at work (or anywhere for that matter) that requires me to tear something up, or apply strength to open something, and someone will tell me they will do it, and pull out a knife from their belt!! I don't know why, but I think its the funniest thing in the world...the job usually does not require a knife, and it usually takes the knife wielder at least twice as long to complete the task with the stupid thing they have been carrying around on their belt loop since the time they reciveved it or bought it, how ever many years ago that might have been.

The part I keep thinking of is when they get dressed in the morining. The old "Spectecals, testicals, wallet, and watch......and knife" pops into my head. Put the Swiss army knife away guys.....that was so '80's! It looks good next to your cell phone on your belt loop, but you really dont need it anymore.....

Just let it go.

It is called a tool. It makes things easier. Do you have a problem with lighters too? Fire and tools were very important in our evolution. :ohno:

I used to carry one ( even to school) when I was in like 4th grade, it was no biggie, never thought of it as a weapon, though.

All men should carry one. They will come in very handy when you least expect it, well unless amybe your a desk jockey. I am in the home improvement business and use it daily. Being that x-mas was just here you should have put one to good use.

It depends on what you do. in general I'd say wear a full on carpenter-type toolbelt, or drop the Swiss Army knife, unless you be going camping or fishing or something.

Don't bring your pocket knife to your PO job !

I carry one, and I'm the least handy guy around.
That being said, it comes in useful in lots of situations... I used it after my wedding reception to uncork a bottle of wine. I've used the scissors and knife countless times when I need to open packages.

Don't see anything wrong with it.

If you are an accountant or something, you don't need a knife. I used to carry a bayonet on my toolbelt, great tool for cutting flexible ductwork.

I don't think a knife of any sort is appropriate to most workplaces, unless it's usage is job related.

It was no big deal to bring a knife to skool, when I was 12 yo.

the bayonet wouldn't be too cool to have in your truck alone, if stopped by PO-lice, but with other construction tools it passes.

It's kind of like a baseball bat isn't cool to carry, but its OK with a glove, spikes and a ball.... I'm in a softball league Officer Jones !

This is close to what I carried, but it was a tool, not a weapon.

I use my truck key instead of a knife. I never need a knife in my daily living since I have a key. All I usually have to cut is shrink wrap or cardboard boxes.

A simple box cutter would be the proper tool, but shrink wrap is easy enough to rip by hand.

I could have used a utility knife for cutting the flex, but got tired of buying knife blades, so I made a weapon from Vietnam or WW2 into a tool, just sharpen it on a grinding wheel.

I don't now whatever happened to it, probably sold it at "Tag Sale" to use an Eastern term, but it would have been in the West... so a swap meet or yard sale.

It certainly came from a swap meet.

I carry a Sig Sauer .45 with me at all times. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

you carry the .45?
For personal protection wouldn't you think it would be better to carry a smaller caliber with a larger capacity clip then a 45 like 5 or 6shooter?
