Booking a three day weekend trip to Vegas in January through Priceline.com and had many hotel options with very little price difference. Going to go there to mainly wager on sports. Before I final book this, my question to those of you who know Vegas well is which hotel(s) is best for for the sports gambler..ie comps (if any), food, good sports environment, etc...?

By the way, was wondering the best way to get money to Vegas without taking large sum of cash in person. Do they take cashiers check, travelers checks, etc?

Thanks for the help guys!

Somehow I find Priceline.com incongruous with Wynn or Venetian. Maybe you should indicate which hotels in a similar price range you want to choose between.

No problem handling travelers checks. Alternatively you could call and arrange to wire money to the cashier if you're sending several thousand.

before you go, you can call a hotel you intend to wager at and ask to get a line of credit.

they will check your credit and so long as everything is in order, approve you for a credit line.

you can ask for a 5k or 10k line for instance, then you just withdraw money to bet from the casino cashier and if you lose you just mail them a check to cover your losses when you get home. if you win you pay back whatever you withdrew from the casino cashier to square that off and keep your winnings.

very easy way to do what you are looking for

All very helpful posts. Great site with knowledgable people here. Thanks!
I live here in Vegas but I'm also quite sure that priceline is not giving you the choices of Wynn or the Venetian. Plenty of other great places to stay ! If you would give us a list of the places offered by priceline, I'm sure us locals could help you find the best place to stay for your $$.

Priceline offers Venetian at reasonable rates by the way. Did not see Wynn though.

Well if Venetian is there at reasonble rates, I would rate it right up there at the top tier ! Las Vegas Hilton has a great
sportsbook and they give you some pretty decent odds also. I buy most of my futures at the Hilton, Palms and sometimes even the Plaza.
